Tax Advisor


Position Overview

Responsible for providing tax planning advice to the business as well as managing tax disputes and their resolution.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage GOI Tax Audits including any associated objections and appeals.
  • Manage other tax related audits from external parties including EY, Partners, SKKMIGAS, BPKP, BPK.
  • Assist with ad hoc tax related projects.
  • Prepare and review complex tax planning associated with COP’s operations in Indonesia including the review of tax related regulatory changes (e.g. transfer pricing, etc.).
  • Manage updates of the Companies tax status, monitor company set up / dissolution, tax ID cancelation.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies in order to provide regular updates to key stakeholders within the company.
  • Reviewing agreements and advise on tax implications.
  • Support Tax Manager to manage tax related matters with external parties (for example providing proactive advocacy through the IPA and in dealings with i.e. IPA, the DGT and MoF).
  • Support COP Corporate tax in the resolution of multi-jurisdictional tax issues.

Minimum Qualification

  • Strong financial and analytical background.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Taxation.
  • Working Experience: Minimum 8 years working experience in the Tax function.
  • Good working knowledge of tax law and regulations.
  • Minimum expected tax qualifications: Brevet A and B.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Effectively manage contract personnel. Role model to the tax organization, promotes SPIRIT values. Leads by example, creates an open and collaborative work environment.

  • Capable of thinking and working independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to coordinate & organize requests for information efficiently and clearly
  • Able to identify, suggest and implement value-adding changes.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Strong working knowledge of Tax Law and legislation
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas tax sector is preferred
  • Able to effectively identify Tax opportunities and risks
  • Understanding of Corporate and commercial law helpful
  • Understanding of tax return and filing requirements
  • Understanding the tax exposures for cash repatriations and movements
  • Understanding the tax implication of intercompany activities.
  • USGAAP or IFRS experience is preferred
  • Experience working for a multi-national organization is preferred
